A Successful Show
The Hills & Dales Estate entry in the 2013 Southeastern Flower Show entitled “Ida’s cultivated earth” was a great success. The display garnered six top awards including the prestigious governor’s cup for best in class. Inspired by Ida Callaway’s 1927 Flower Book, the exhibit highlighted Ida’s desire to create a practical garden that provided food for her family and friends but was also beautiful. Special thanks to Brooks Garcia and Nate Tomsheck and, of course, our many talented garden staff members for their tremendous work on the display. The show was held in Atlanta in March and was sponsored by the Southeastern Horticultural Society.
