The Hills & Dales Activity Book features a range of fun activities, problems, and puzzles. Earle the Fox Squirrel leads children on a fun-filled journey through the Estate while they learn about the plants, animals, and history that make Hills & Dales Estate so special. The ten page booklet is designed for children between Kindergarten and 6th grade. Students who tour the Estate and successfully complete “Earle’s Great Hunt” on page nine of the activity book will receive a special prize at the visitor center.

Seasonal Events




Picnic in the Garden

Held annually in May, free pony rides are offered for the children in addition to outdoor games. Admission to the garden is free for everyone who brings a picnic basket and blanket. The more the merrier, so bring your family and friends to this spring affair!

Stories in the Garden

In partnership with the Azalea Story Telling Festival, Hills & Dales hosts story tellers each fall in the Pecan Grove. Call (706) 882-3242 to register.

Halloween at the Callaway Family Home

The long tradition of celebrating Halloween at the Estate continues.  Trick or treat for little goblins begins at 5:30 p.m. and all costumed children are given candy bars.

Children’s Christmas Celebration

Children are invited to create their own gingerbread house and enjoy a Christmas sing-a-long, story time and visits with Santa.
